Steambombs are enemies in Owlboy that can be found in the Owl Temple.

Appearance

Steambombs have lumpy, rocky, dark brown shells with veins of orange running through it. They have tentacle appendages they walk on, and three bright blue eyes.

Behavior

Steambombs walk along the ground idly until approached, at which point they retreat into their shells. In this state they are able to be picked up, and when thrown will explode on contact. Their explosions can be used to defeat enemies, even Spikeballs, or break obstacles.

Instruction Manual Entry

Appearing more like a walking rock, the actual creature is a set of tentacles. They seek out loose rock and heat it up as a mobile home. Being very timid. if picked up, the panic makes them overheat and explode, giving them their name.
